One of television's quirkiest shows is coming to Cincinnati next year.
The Masked Singer — FOX's reality show in which celebrities perform while concealed within elaborate costumes — will launch its live tour in St. Louis on May 28. The popular show will hit venues in 50 cities across the United States, including the Taft Theatre in Cincinnati on Tuesday, June 27. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the Taft box office and on ticketmaster.com.
In 2020, The Masked Singer's live tour was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now in its sixth season on FOX, The Masked Singer was adapted for U.S. audiences from a South Korean show called King of Mask Singer. The ratings smash has featured disguised celebrities like Soul singer Gladys Knight, figure skater Johnny Weir, skateboarder Tony Hawk and Olympic gold medalist Chloe Kim, and it even has spawned The Masked Dancer as a spin-off series.
But honestly, we just want to know if Nick Lachey will be joining the show when it comes to the Taft.
The Cincinnati native, former Kings Island performer and 98 Degrees member caused a stir when he joined season five of the hit show earlier this year. His costume? "Piglet," which naturally made the region grunt with speculation due to Porkopolis' proclivity for pigs and Lachey's company Flying Pig Productions.
Throughout the season, Lachey made a believer out of millions of viewers.
He sang opera.
He sang Phil Collins.
And then Lachey just went and won the whole damn thing with his rendition of Journey's "Faithfully."
"We watched the premiere episode together and I was holding Brooklyn and I think I got two or three notes out of my mouth and she pointed to me, she goes, 'Daddy,'" Lachey told People. "They recognized my voice immediately."
But will Lachey grace the Taft's stage when The Masked Singer comes to Cincinnati? A press release promises that "audiences can expect to see their favorite characters brought to life on stage in a can’t-miss spectacular live show for audiences of all ages, as well as surprise celebrity guests and amazing new performances," so we're guessing Lachey will say "I do" to a memorable performance in his hometown.
