Skyline Chili and Mountain Dew fans aren’t backing down after the Cincinnati chain announced it was kicking its Pepsi products to curb. One of those fans took to Change.org to try to stop the switch to Coke.

Skyline announced Monday that it will be rolling out Coke products at its restaurants starting in April.

“Power Couple Alert!” the local chain wrote on its social media. “We’re thrilled to announce that we have officially partnered with Coca-Cola! Soon you’ll be able to enjoy your favorite Coke products with your Skyline Coneys and Ways starting this April!”

Pepsi fans — particularly those who opt for a Mountain Dew to go with their coneys and ways — were not pleased with the chili chain’s announcement. Many on social media lamented the change, with one user calling the Coke equivalent of Mountain Dew, Mello Yello, “the skid mark of citrus flavored pop.”

One of those fans, Virginia Miller, started a petition to call for Skyline to listen to its customers regarding their beverage options.

“As a loyal customer of Skyline I am deeply concerned about the recent decision to switch from Pepsi to Coke. This change was made without consulting the customers who have come to associate Skyline with their favorite Pepsi products. For many of us in Cincinnati, OH, a meal at Skyline is not complete without a refreshing Mountain Dew,” Miller wrote.

“We understand that businesses must make decisions based on various factors but we believe it is crucial for companies like Skyline to consider their customers' preferences too. We urge you not just as consumers but as part of the community you serve - let our voices be heard! Please reconsider your decision and keep offering Pepsi products at your establishments.”

As of this writing, the petition had nearly 1,200 signatures, with a goal of gathering 1,500 signatures. Other SkylinexPepsi fans made their voices heard in the comments section:

“I will switch to Gold Star if they take away Mt. Dew. It's not the same without it,” one person, Davey, wrote. (Hopefully Davey realizes Gold Star is making the switch to Coke products also.)

“Mtn Dew with Cincy Style Chili is a tradition and part of our cultural heritage,” another signer, John, shared.
