Kentucky's Edge is a new-fangled immersive bourbon experience set to take over Northern Kentucky — like a lot of it — on Oct. 4 and 5.
The event will feature bourbon tastings, an artisan market, distillery tours, live music, block parties, an educational conference and food spread out across Newport and Covington. There's a full map and schedule of events online, but the press release says the following 35+ pay-as-you-go things are happening:
- A bunch of different bourbon-themed food events at various restaurants, including brunches, dinners and prix fixe samplers
- Some kind of artisan market with food, craft vendors and hand-rolled cigars that will be open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday
- Distillery tours of Old Pogue, Boone County and New Riff
- A tour of the Kentucky Speedway and Neeley Family Distillery
- Live music from Com Truise on Friday and Jukebox the Ghost on Saturday at the Madison Theater
- A free music festival on the river, under the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge, with bands including The Rusty Griswolds and Hayseed Dixie
- Buskers on every corner!
- A block party with DJs at Roebling Point each night
- A bourbon conference on Saturday at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center with speakers, panels and workshops, including guests like Bill Samuels, Jr., chairman emeritus of Maker’s Mark; Mandy Vance, Private Selection at Four Roses; and Molly Wellmann, mixologist and author.
You can buy tickets for everything, including VIP status — which grants you access to lounges, bathrooms, private bars and other assorted perks — from this ticket hub.
This is also where you'll find individual listings for different dates, times and locations for events including classes, tastings, tours, etc.
It looks like events are taking place at venues ranging from Pompilio's, Rich's Proper, Lisse, The Gruff and Commonwealth to Braxton Labs, New Riff, Old Kentucky Bourbon Bar, Wiseguys and plenty more.
We're about to be covered in bourbon.
