If you don’t like running but you do like drinking beer, the Beer 5K & 1/4 mile Walk/Tasting on July 13 is for you.
Run, walk or just drink beer. For $20 (tasting only) to $50 (5K plus swag and tasting), sample beers from local breweries like MadTree, Streetside, Brink Brewing Co., 3 Points, Braxton and more.
The race takes place first, followed by the tasting. The starting line is at Sawyer Point with a 5K course that winds down the riverfront and across the Ohio River into Newport and back. The quarter-mile jaunt is a bitty walk that takes you along the Sawyer Point riverfront.
After you complete the athletic portion (or opt out of it), head to the after party for beer.
