The Cincinnati Reds will host several theme nights at Great American Ball Park in 2023.
Baseball season is quickly approaching, which to some means getting to once again root for Joey Votto (please don't be injured forever) and the Cincinnati Reds. To others, it means something else – theme nights are back.
According to a Feb. 2 press release from the Reds, theme night ticket package holders will receive exclusive items and a ticket to the game. Each theme night ticket package has limited availability and must be purchased through reds.com.
Here is a breakdown of each theme night:
Star Wars Ticket Package
Calling all galactic rebels and Empire residents to Great American Ball Park. The Reds are hosting Star Wars night on May 5. The ticket package includes a limited-edition Mandalorian bobblehead and a ticket to the game against the Chicago White Sox.Cincinnati Zoo Ticket Package
Cincinnati’s own royal bloat will be celebrated at Great American Ball Park in June. In collaboration with the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, the Reds will celebrate the zoo’s newest addition Fritz the hippo. The zoo package offers fans a limited-edition Fritz bobblehead and a ticket to the June 20 game against the Colorado Rockies. $2 from every ticket package will benefit the zoo.Pride Night Ticket Package
Batter up to Great American Ball Park to celebrate Pride night during the July 21 game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Reds will host Pride night, which features pre-game events to honor various local organizations in the LQBTQ+ community. Fans with tickets for the Pride package will receive a special-edition Reds Pride hat.Jerry Garcia Ticket Package
Calling all Deadheads to Great American Ball Park this August to celebrate Jerry Garcia, the late vocalist and lead guitarist of rock band Grateful Dead. The Reds will host Jerry Garcia night for the Aug. 4 game against the Washington Nationals. The Jerry Garcia ticket package includes a bobblehead of the singer and a ticket to the game. Part of the proceeds will go to the Rex Foundation, a nonprofit organization created by the band.Sesame Street Ticket Package
The Reds will honor longtime educational children's television show Sesame Street during the Sept. 3 game against the Chicago Cubs. The Sesame Street ticket package includes an Elmo bobblehead as well as a ticket to the game.The Reds posted their second-ever 100-loss season in 2022, ending with a record of 62-100. The 2023 season will kick off with a home opener against NL Central opponent the Pittsburgh Pirates on March 30 at Great American Ball Park.
